This single malt is finished in different styles of sherry casks including Apostoles, Amoroso and Matusalem oloroso.
The Dalmore 15 Year Old was aged in two steps. First, an initial maturation for twelve years in American white oak casks, followed by a final maturation (finish) for three years in three different Sherry woods - Amoroso (A type of Oloroso), Apostles (Palo Cortado) and Matusalem (Oloroso). All three Sherry types were sourced from Gonzalez Byass, a legendary Sherry producer, with whom The Dalmore has an exclusive arrangement. The Dalmore 15 Year Old is influenced by the Sherry finishing, but hasn't been overwhelmed, which makes this Highland Scotch a real treat.
Tasting Notes :
Color - Dark amber
Nose - Orange marmalade, cinnamon and nutmeg
Taste - Mandarin, vanilla, ginger and crushed apples
Finish - Caramelised orange and rich dark chocolate
